Over the course of this week, six companies from the provinces of Albacete, Ciudad Real and Toledo in Castilla-La Mancha are taking part in a group visit by companies in the food sector organised by the Foreign Trade and Investment Institute (IPEX) to the Summer Fancy Food Show 2022 being held in New York (United States).

The Fancy Food Show is an event that has been organised by the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) for more than 60 years.

Gourmet and delicatessen products take centre stage and are more prominent at the summer edition of this East Coast show. In 2019, the show was attended by 2,600 exhibitors from 57 countries and was visited by 15,000 sector professionals. Those visitors include procurement managers from leading food distribution chains in the country.

The US market has a specific and growing demand for Spanish produce and the Spain brand, not only in terms of traditional products but also other newer and more specialised products. This list of products is topped by olive oil at 473 million euros, then wine at 319 million euros and table olives at 181 million euros.

Castilla-La Mancha supports attendance by companies as visitors so they may discover trends in the market and work on future business opportunities. Companies from the region receive support from the IPEX Overseas Network to visit points of sale for its products as complementary assistance to attending the show itself.
